Campus Outreach Staff Member Missing in DC Area since Tuesday Found Alive

Written by Lawrence D. Jones, Christian Post | Sunday, May 29, 2011

Christian ministry worker Matt Hill, who was missing since Tuesday, has been found, those leading his search party reported Sunday. D.C. Police confirmed that Hill has been found, NBC Washington reported Sunday morning.

Mark Dever, pastor of Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington D.C., which led hundreds of volunteers to search for Hill yesterday, announced Sunday that the youth ministry worker has been found alive.

“Praise God, Matt Hill is alive, unharmed. I thank God for the amazing love this congregation has poured out over these last few days,” Dever said via Twitter Sunday morning.

Hill works for Christian Outreach Washington, a youth ministry which has offices at Capitol Hill Baptist Church.

A message on the Facebook page for Hill, Praying and Searching for Matt Hill *Missing *, also confirmed this morning he was found.

“We need to clarify. We confirm Matt has been found and is alive and unharmed. He also left on his own will. We don’t have any answers. We praise God he is alive, but ask you continue to pray,” read the Facebook post.

A volunteer answering the phone at Capitol Hill Baptist Church Sunday morning told The Christian Post that she also heard that he has been found. She said church members heard the news from Facebook and has no other information that would find it to be untrue.

The Twitter account FindMattHill also announced that 26-year-old Hill was found and that he left on his own will.
