Bullet Points—Kinism and The Sin of Noticing

I have noticed that there is a broad spectrum of men who claim to be proponents of Kinism.

Written by Larry Ball | Thursday, June 4, 2026

I have noticed that the term “race” does not appear in the Bible.  It is a relatively new term in the history of mankind.  The terms “race” and “ethnicity” have replaced the biblical word “nation.”  The word nation refers, first of all, to a people who have a common biological ancestor.

  1. I have noticed that there is a broad spectrum of men who claim to be proponents of Kinism. Because of this I avoid the label of Kinism.  Some Kinists believe that interracial marriage is sinful.  I call this heavy Kinism. Other Kinists believe that interracial marriage is not sinful, but unwise.  I call this Light Kinism. There are Kinist pastors who have performed weddings for interracial couples, and there are Kinist pastors who shepherd married interracial couples within their own congregations (and their children). Timothy, as a son of a Jewish mother and a Greek father poses no problem to Kinists. Timothy was and is praised by Kinists for his high calling in Christ.
  2. I have noticed that people are normally attracted to others of their same race and culture (their own kin). This has also been called the “Ordo Amoris.” This is not a prohibition of mixing, especially in the church where all have Christ in common, but this is the norm among men with natural affections.  In the PCA (in the United States) there are Korean Churches and Presbyteries made up of only national Koreans. There are black churches and Chinese churches in America. These churches are not living in sin because they prefer to worship and fellowship with those of their own kin.
  3. I have noticed that the main problem that Kinists have with interracial marriage is not that they exist, but that that there is a grandiose and targeted movement in Neo-Marxist America to destroy the existence of nations as defined by the Bible. A propositional America has replaced a Heritage America in the last 100 years. This scheme uses the powerful tools of false guilt and misplaced piety.  It is not a coincidence that the Marxist tenet to alienate all natural orders, and Alienism (anti-Kinism) have become driving forces in America at the same time.  It is interesting that Christians in heaven are portrayed as being united in Christ, but maintain their identity with a particular nation, a particular gender, and a particular position (Rev. 21:24). Kings are males.
  4. I have noticed that the term “race” does not appear in the Bible. It is a relatively new term in the history of mankind.  The terms “race” and “ethnicity” have replaced the biblical word “nation.”  The word nation refers, first of all, to a people who have a common biological ancestor.  It is rooted in the same words as “natal” and “nativity” which describe birth and identifies with a father patriarch.
  5. I have noticed that races are real. They are not a social construct.  They are not the creation of the mind of man.  They are not merely different shades of brown. They indeed are more than melanin.  I notice the makeup of the people in places like Japan and China.  They are nations with a similar melanin and other physical features, but also, and maybe more importantly, they are a people with a common ancestor, a common heritage, and common traditions (such as skills, holidays, food, etc.) who live within the same geographical boundary.
  6. I have noticed that there are no individuals that have immutable moral characteristics that cannot be changed by the gospel. Christians believe in the power of the Holy Spirit to work miracles in any sinner.  However, this is not the issue.  The issue is that when the gospel does come to various races (nations) through individual conversions, it takes generations, if not centuries to change that nation as a whole.  Theologians need to separate churches and nations in their discourses on this topic.
  7. I have noticed that in Christ there is no longer Jew nor Greek, slave nor free man, male nor female (Gal. 3:28). We are all one in Him.  However, as Kinists are fond of saying, even though we are all one in Christ, grace restores nature, not destroys it.  Males and females do not cease to exist after conversion, but by grace they become more like the pattern for which they were made by God in creation (nature).
  8. I have noticed that certain nations (races) have superior and inferior characteristics that set them apart from one another. This was true of the Cretans (Titus 1: 12-13).
  9. I have noticed that when the Apostle Paul wrote about the Cretans, he was encouraging Titus to warn those newly converted to Christ of the difficulty of overcoming certain inherent sins “native” to that nation. It would be a struggle for the Cretan Christians, but it would not be impossible. He was talking to Christian Cretans about the sanctification struggle ahead of them, and not about a quick fix or antidote for the Cretan nation itself.  By and large, even though Christian Cretans would change, the moral identity of the non-Christian Cretans as a nation would remain the same apart from the gospel as “always liars, evil beasts, liars, lazy gluttons (Titus 1: 12).”
  10. I have noticed that if such great theologians as Martin Luther, R.L. Dabney, and J Gresham Machen were living today, they would probably be called Kinists.
