Home/Churches and Ministries/UPDATED: Erskine Lawsuit NOT YET withdrawn

UPDATED: Erskine Lawsuit NOT YET withdrawn

Written by Don K. Clements | Friday, March 12, 2010

A phonecall by a South Carolina attorney, not involved in the case, to the offices of the law firm which originated the lawsuit Erskine College vs. ARP Synod confirmed at mid day that the complaint had NOT been withdrawn as of that time.

Rumors from several sources continue to maintain that discussions are being held that may result in a settlement of the issues prior to the hearing scheduled for next Friday, but as of noon Friday no formal statement has been release by any of the parties in the case.

Original story: At about 6:30AM Friday, The State, a Columbia-based newspaper that covers all of South Carolina, ran an article reprinted from the Greenville News about the Erskine situation.

As is common in on-line editions of newspapers, there is a space for readers to comment. One reader, identifying himself only as ‘Attorney in SC” posted the following: “Lawsuit was withdrawn yesterday (Thursday) afternoon. This is no longer a story.”

Here is a link to that story and comment:
