Bow to Your King!

Is Jesus the King of your life?

Written by Reuben Bredenhof | Saturday, October 11, 2025

Sometimes we feel like our leaders are distant from us. Over there in Ottawa or down in Washington, they are totally unaware of our daily concerns. Yet with King Jesus there’s no such distance. He understands what we need. He cares for us deeply.

What qualifies someone for a position of authority? We expect our leaders in government to have skill, integrity, and strength of character.

These are exactly the kind of qualities that set Jesus apart as a completely capable leader. Now, He was called and introduced as “the Lamb of God”—which is not the most inspiring title, nor a winning political brand. The Lamb even let himself be killed by his enemies.

Except that the world hadn’t heard the last of him. Jesus arose from the dead and ascended into heaven. Scripture and the Apostles’ Creed say that He even sat down at God the Father’s right hand as King, a place of supreme authority and honour.
