Book of Common Worship: Revised and Expanded

Written by Patrick W. Curles | Tuesday, December 2, 2008

A new Book of Common Worship (and Administration of the Sacraments and Other Ordinances and Rites of the Church Together with The Confession of Faith, Shorter Catechism and Psalter), has been compiled and edited by Rev. Patrick W. Curles, assistant pastor of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Montgomery, Ala.

The basis of this book is the 1946 Book of Common Worship, but unlike that work, Curles’ compilation is in harmony with the current Book of Church Order used by the Presbyterian Church in America. The revisions of all orders and services conform to the Standards of the PCA and its Book of Church Order.

Also included are daily and family prayers, and morning and evening services of prayer that can be used for worship by individuals, families, and congregations. As noted in the subtitle, this work includes a complete Psalter, the Confession of Faith, and Shorter Catechism. This unprecedented, essential service book will be welcomed by PCA ministers and members who desire an aid for worship and devotions. Curles has joined into one volume material normally accessible only in several books.

The Book of Common Worship is available through the PCA Bookstore or at Lulu.com.
