Beholding Christ on the Lord’s Day

Come hungry. Come repentant. Come ready to behold Christ.

Written by Virgil Walker | Monday, July 14, 2025

When we gather as the Church, we are not performing. We are not consuming. We are not pretending. We are declaring war on every false god, every idol, every demonic lie that says Christ is not enough. We are lifting up our voices in defiance of hell.

“But we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image…” — 2 Corinthians 3:18

I usually reserve reflections like this one exclusively for paid subscribers. But today is the Lord’s Day—and that means the focus isn’t on subscriptions or algorithms, it’s on Christ.

So I’m opening this post to everyone. No paywall. No promo. Just a call to lift your eyes and behold the risen King.

Because this day doesn’t belong to us—it belongs to Him.

The Lord’s Day Is Not Just Another Sunday

It’s not just a day to rest.
It’s not just a weekly rhythm.
It’s not even just the day Christians gather.

It’s the day our Savior rose.
It’s the day He crushed death underfoot.
It’s the day light broke through the tomb.
