In the meantime, I have a practical solution. It’s not toleration. It’s not domination. It’s not even abomination. Let those who identify themselves as transgenders use the bathrooms in the faculty lounge or the principal’s office. It’s called accommodation!
Christians are at war with the world. Jesus said “He who is not with me is against me” (Matt. 12:30). There is no neutral ground. The goal of war is to subdue the enemy.
Christians have swallowed, hook, line, and sinker, the idea that the goal of our enemy is toleration. We have been taught that the enemies of Christ just want to live in peace. Leave us alone and we will leave you alone.
However, President Obama in his latest move has directed the Department of Education to mandate gender-identification bathrooms in the public schools. It is a war against Christians who have their children in the public schools. This is not toleration—it is domination! The state’s major weapon at this point is the threat of the withdrawal of federal funds from state and local education.
Because the consequences of this directive affects the family personally (involving fathers and daughters), resistance is mounting. The reality of boys dressed as girls in a daughter’s bathroom is a direct threat to the safety of our children.
Some states are fighting back by going to court, which seems hopeless since the federal courts represent the opinion of the federal government. It’s like asking the fox to give an opinion on the safety of the chicken house.
Since the salaries of public school teachers are dependent on federal funds, Christians will lose this battle, too. Money controls the outcome. Refusing federal funds and closing down the public schools is just not an option at all in modern America, at least not at the present time. As is the pattern, the noise will soon die out, and Christians will lose one more battle.
In a Christian society, the phenomenon of males dressing up as females would be prohibited. “A woman shall not wear man’s clothing, nor shall a man put on a woman’s clothing; for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God” (Deut. 22:5). It would be considered an abomination.
In the meantime, I have a practical solution. It’s not toleration. It’s not domination. It’s not even abomination. Let those who identify themselves as transgenders use the bathrooms in the faculty lounge or the principal’s office. It’s called accommodation!
