The White Horse Inn Reformation Conference 2011 will be held October 28-29 at the historic First Church of Christ in Bradford, Mass. Michael Horton and Gordon Issac are the featured speakers
What’s so amazing about grace? The way we usually tell God’s story puts all the emphasis on me and what I do for Him, but that’s hardly amazing and it definitely isn’t grace. The key to renewing your own relationship with Jesus and recovering the church’s divine role and mission is to put the amazing back into grace.
Too many Christians misunderstand the good news of Jesus’ death and resurrection.
They believe that Jesus is the best model for a successful life and that if we live like him God will love and accept us. It’s no wonder that people stop going to church! After a few well-intentioned attempts to earn God’s favor, most of us give up trying to please God. But the Gospel is good news because we’re no longer the center of the action; God’s work on our behalf is the center of the action and the cause of worship and celebration, as we treasure Him supremely in all of life.
Recover this good news of God’s grace on October 28-29, 2011 as the White Horse Inn presents, “Putting Amazing Back Into Grace: Returning to the Roots of Treasuring Christ.”
When you register for this conference in picturesque Bradford, Mass. (Boston metro-north area), you can be sure that you’ll do more than just sit and listen. We want this to be a time for you to wrestle with the implications of what a recovery of the Gospel might mean for you, your family, even your church. Michael Horton will lead three general sessions taking up the root, rejection, and recovery of the Gospel. Gordon Isaac will take us on a lively walk through New England church history, especially seen through the eyes of our conference host site, the historic First Church of Christ.
Local pastors will join Dr. Horton and Dr. Isaac for a panel discussion. And you’ll have the chance to work through the themes of the conference in conversation with those who are learning alongside you.
