This seminar will explore the nature of laws passed by local, state and federal bodies which appear antithetical to God’s moral law, and to provide guidance and options for the church’s biblical response. Join with us to discuss the spiritual, moral, and social issues of our day, and to find encouragement and resources on how to equip church members to take their place and raise their voices in the public square.
Our culture, as others in the past, is facing confusion on moral issues, whether on abortion, defining marriage, redefining gender, religious freedoms, and so much more. The church cannot be strangely silent on these issues.
To discuss what the church can and should be doing is the public square, four Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) members, one an Instructor in Evangelism Explosion, and three teaching elders, are providing a seminar entitled “For Such a Time as This.” The seminar will meet June 29, 2021, 10:00 – 11:55 a.m., at the St. Louis Holiday Inn Downtown – Convention Center, across the street from the PCA General Assembly site.
Registration is $10 per person. Student registration (seminary, college, high school) is free.

This conference is for all views of social engagement, whether: “separation of church and state,” ”two-kingdom,” “spirituality of the church,” “get ‘em saved first and society’s problems will be solved,” or for “fill in the blank” for those sorting things out.
We’ll explore and challenge the various excuses for lack of engagement such as: “not our problem,” “we weren’t there,” “afraid of the IRS, “too busy,” or “things aren’t all that bad.” You’ll hear proposals for social engagement that will encourage you to be informed and involved on the significant issues of our time, and how to provide competent leadership for your members. Every generation has to understand the times in order to address the issues that impact our ministries.
