Just a week ago we had nearly 700 fans of our Face Book Page. Then, the Emperor of Face Book Land decided to make major changes, which removed our reader’s ability to comment on stories on our site. But that wasn’t all!!…..

Our FB widget was inactivated (where people could join), our links of stories did not post properly, and people could not join the group without being added by an existing member. This last part was the biggest problem with the new “groups,” because we want people to be able to join without having to be vetted by some other member first.

From FB’s point of view, groups are a “cozier” way for likeminded people to share ideas and thoughts. However, a news site such as ours does not need coziness, it needs accessibility! As such, it was necessary to create a new FB page and encourage our existing members to transition over.

We hope that more than 700 folks will join us here. Better yet, post a link to the new page on your own FB page and encourage them to come with you. We were just starting to see some great dialogue develop and a number of the stories we posted on FB and we definitely want to expand that ability.
