Kellogg said the webcast will spur conversation about biblical world views, and give people pause about whether they’re living their lives accordingly.
The Mississippi College School of Business will present a webcast titled “Do the Right Thing” on Saturday featuring a five-person panel that will talk about morality in the marketplace and other ethics topics.
Doors open at 8 a.m. at Self Hall on the Clinton campus, 200 S. Capitol St. The webcast, which starts at 8:30 a.m., is free and open to the public.
Christian leader and cultural commentator Chuck Colson is among the panelists who will speak live from Washington, D.C. Colson, perhaps better known as the White House “hatchet man,” was former special counsel to President Richard Nixon.
He was dubbed one of the Watergate Seven and pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice.
Colson converted to Christianity in 1973, and the following year served seven months in federal prison as the first member of the Nixon administration to be jailed for Watergate-related charges. He went on to form a non-profit prison ministry called Prison Fellowship.
Stuart Kellogg, president and general manager of WAPT-Channel 16 in Jackson, studied under Colson as part of Colson’s Centurions Program, which prepares Christians to apply biblical truths to every aspect of their lives.
Kellogg, who invited Colson to speak, said the webcast will touch on several topics, including the roots of moral authority and ethics in the marketplace and public life.
