This conference replaces the long running CWSC which had been held in Virginia Beach for many years. The conference is under the direct control of the Session of Westminster Church’s Session.
Last year was the first year of the Biblical Worldview Student Conference (BWSC), which took up the mantle of CWSC which had been held in Virginia Beach for many years. The Session of Westminster Presbyterian Church is pleased to continue this conference after a very successful inaugural effort. If any of your young people attended, they will almost certainly tell you that the meeting was characterized by great fellowship, comfortable facilities, excellent speakers and an opportunity to get to know like-minded young people from all over the country.
The purpose of BWSC is to train young men and women (age 15 to college seniors) to grow in the faith and be better equipped to face the challenges of an increasingly hostile world. We desire to equip students to always be ready to give an answer for the hope that lies within. (1 Peter 3:15)
Toward that end, we offer 5 days of intensive instruction in diverse areas of the Christian life. Approximately 30 hours of lecture is provided by a world class group of instructors who will challenge and broaden our students. Biblical teaching, along with fellowship of like minded young people, offers a unique opportunity for life changing learning as well as companionship and enjoyable activities during spare time. Sporting activities (volleyball, basketball, ultimate Frisbee, soccer etc), Heritage dancing, and the conference ending talent show keep the conference from being all work.
The length and schedule of the conference will remain basically unchanged. We anticipate that the quality of our speakers will be equal to or better than the very high standards set by last year’s instructors. We anticipate that many of the free time activities will be enhanced by the excellent facilities.
The conference will be held at Milligan College outside of Johnson City, TN. This beautiful campus is nestled in the hills of East Tennessee and offers an excellent meeting room, comfortable rooms, facilities that are close together and access to a gym and athletic fields. We feel this site will be convenient to most. Milligan is less than a five hour drive from Atlanta, Raleigh, Richmond, Cincinnati, Nashville, and Columbia via I-81 and I-26. Delta, USAir, and Northwest airlines provide daily service to Tri-Cities Regional airport (TRI). Dates of the conference are May 31 to June 5, 2010.
Below you will find a preregistration form as well as basic information on costs (note: fees are unchanged) and speakers. We encourage early registration as space is limited and overflow accommodations are not air conditioned. One change this year is that we encourage attendees to print off their registration forms from the website to save on mailing costs. However, if you need us to send them, we will be glad to do so.
More information is available at westminsterkpt.org/bwsc (extra pre-registration forms also available) or Facebook“BWSC!-The New CWSC.” Please feel free to call or email us with questions. Students who attend once, usually return the next year. Contact point is: Del Bailey, MD Conference Coordinator; email [email protected] Phone: (423) 247-7341
