It is with heavy heart that I write you to inform you that Trevelyn was killed in a car accident late last night on Altadena. BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) – A small memorial now sits at the intersection of Altadena Road and Settlers Lane, the spot where 19-year old Trevelyn Campbell tragically lost her life late Friday night.
The young woman had just left her parents home when the accident happened.
“It’s just been an extraordinarily challenging time,” said Pastor Harry Reeder.
The senior minister at Briarwood Presbyterian Church says Trevelyn’s death has hit his congregation hard.
He describes her as being full of life and someone who exhibited extraordinary talents.
“We could talk a long time about her artistic gifts, her academic gifts, her relationships. She constantly was searching to minister and care for people that other people didn’t care for,” Reeder said.
According to the pastor, Trevelyn influenced many lives. That’s evident by the enormous amount of cards and condolences left in a Samford University hallway where she attended school.
“She didn’t meet anybody that she couldn’t be friends with and very few people that met her would ever want to be her enemy,” Pastor Reeder said.
But underneath all of Trevelyn’s personality, Reeder believes was something else, something more substantial than any gift or talent.
