Summer break is almost over and a new school year is about to begin. As thousands of children return to their classrooms, some will require additional support to help them through the academic challenges of the school year.
For the past three years Grace Presbyterian Church in Stone Mountain, has provided additional support by giving free tutoring to students in the community who need academic help.

Grace Presbyterian Church, which opened its doors more than 35 years ago, sees the tutorial program as a relevant way to reach out to the community.
“Our purpose is really two-fold,” said Jackson. “Our (initial goal) is to help children to learn, especially in view of what’s been happening with our public school system, but it’s also an outreach opportunity. It gives us a chance to meet people we otherwise would not have met. It gives us a point of contact so it’s both an end and a means,” said Jackson.
