Geneva is expanding the size of its leadership team…to expand and encourage greater communication and participation between various areas of the college
Geneva College names two Associate Vice Presidents (AVPs) and a Director of Development for the Annual Fund following recent restructuring of the organization.
All three positions are being filled by current employees who have proven to be dedicated to serving the Geneva College community.
The new AVP and Controller is Stephen Ross of Chippewa, Pa., who came to Geneva as Controller in July of 2009. As a key member of the leadership team, Ross is responsible for the budget, business office and purchasing functions of the college. He came to Geneva College from the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Ill., where he had worked for the past ten years, most recently as the Internal Audit & Tax Manager. Ross has also served as the Director of Finance at Berean Missions, Inc. and a Staff Accountant at Suttle & Stalnaker. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Cedarville University in Ohio.
The new AVP of Operations and Human Resources is Tim Baird, of Center Township, Pa., who has been Director of Human Resources at Geneva since July of 2005. Baird will oversee areas of physical plant, technology services, vendors, human resources and security. Before coming to Geneva College, Tim was Assistant Human Resources Manager at WonderBread/Hostess in Philadelphia, Pa. He also served as a Human Resources Specialist at Tasty Baking Company in Philadelphia. Tim graduated from Geneva College in 2000 with a B.S.B.A. with a concentration in human resource management and a minor in accounting. He also holds a master’s in business administration from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia.
Linda Colbert from Center Township, Pa., who has worked in Institutional Advancement and/or Marketing at Geneva since January of 2002, is the new Director of Development for the Annual Fund. In this position, Linda will execute and manage a comprehensive annual fund program for Geneva College and manage a portfolio of annual fund donors. Before coming to Geneva, Linda worked at DiNuzzo Investment Advisors, Inc. in Beaver as Client Relationship Manager and, prior to that, as Executive Assistant to the Superintendent of Western Beaver County Schools.
As part of its revised organizational structure, Geneva is expanding the size of its leadership team. This move is consistent with President Ken Smith’s desire to expand and encourage greater communication and participation between various areas of the college.
