Each year, this one-day event captures extraordinary, eyewitness insight on the leadership style and guiding principles of America’s 40th President. This lecture is dedicated to exploring the enduring greatness of President Ronald Reagan.
The Center for Vision and Values at Grove City College each year hosts three special lectures, in addition to their longer April conference.
Listing them in ‘reverse’ order by date of the event, the first is known as the Freedom Readers lecture. “Economics and cheesecake” is the sweet essence of The Center’s Freedom Readers lecture series. Interact with today’s economic thought and opinion leaders over dessert, coffee and lively conversation.
The next lecture features The American Founders. Discover the rich legacy of America’s Founding Generation from the authors and scholars who know them best. Go beyond history’s caricatures to understand the true genius of the architects of “The Great Experiment.”
The final of the three special lectures is the annual Ronald Reagan Lecture. Each year, this one-day event captures extraordinary, eyewitness insight on the leadership style and guiding principles of America’s 40th President. This lecture is dedicated to exploring the enduring greatness of President Ronald Reagan.
Five years ago, The Center inaugurated the first annual Ronald Reagan Lecture featuring author and radio talk show personality, Michael Reagan. Each year, the event has provided extraordinary, eyewitness testimonials to the leadership style and guiding principles of America’s 40th President.
In addition to the president’s son, the Center has been privileged to feature former Attorney General Edwin Meese, CIA senior official Herb Meyer and presidential speechwriter Peter Robinson, the author of Reagan’s “Tear Down This Wall Speech.” Reagan Lecture audiences learn the truth about Reagan’s enduring legacy by interacting with those “in the room” with this transformational leader.
This year the speaker will be bestselling author, commentator and syndicated radio talk show host, Dr. Bill Bennett. As a presidential appointee, Bennett served President Reagan as chairman of the National Endowment for the Humanities and Secretary of Education. He would return to the White House as President George H.W. Bush’s national “drug czar.”
In the years outside official Washington, Dr. Bennett has used his considerable public profile to become one of the most enthusiastic defenders of President Reagan’s legacy. In a 2008 speech at the Reagan Presidential Library, Bennett celebrated the man he viewed as a once-in-a-generation leader, “I hope for another Ronald Reagan (as president),” he said, “but there won’t ever be another Ronald Reagan.”
The event will take place Thursday, February 03, 2011 from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM (ET). Reserve your tickets now at http://www.eventbrite.com/event/973017321
