The Equality Act and the Cost of Freedom
The day is quickly approaching when there will be no space remaining in America where Christians are free to work or engage in public education without denying their faith.
In short, the Equality Act will point out that the Bible is incompatible with the law of the United States of America. This will assault the freedom of speech for Christians in the public sphere, for pastors in print and the pulpit, as well as Christian education and institutions. The Equality Act could be the... The Fruit of the Spirit: Gentleness
We need the wisdom that is from above in order to know how to live, how to respond to our decaying culture.
The Holy Spirit, through Paul, then gives us three ways that we can “stand firm”. We are to “rejoice in the LORD always”[xii], let our “reasonableness be known”[xiii], and to not be anxious.[xiv] The remainder of our discussion will focus on letting our “reasonableness be known”. There are tremendous pressures in our culture. Talk... Continue Reading
It’s Not ‘Gestational Parent’: She’s a Mother
Calls to de-gender persons and relationships are taking off around the globe.
Effective communication is becoming harder. We can no longer trust our eyes and our senses to make reasonable conclusions. We stumble over our words as we try to find the accepted doublespeak. How is the new mother, sorry, the ‘gestational parent’? Are you the non ‘birthing parent’? Apart from sounding like idiots, the problem is,... Continue Reading
Thank God for His Work in Nigeria
Our troubles are real, and our dissatisfaction at the state of our nation is not unwarranted.
But God is working in Nigeria, and that should give us hope and cause us to rejoice. On the first Sunday of February, my church welcomed 15 congregants into membership. And we had two visiting pastors from a thriving church in Lagos officiating the induction service. You may think that 15 isn’t 1500, or that... Continue Reading
Biden Dismisses Uighur Genocide as Part of China’s ‘Different Norms’
“Culturally there are different norms that each country and their leaders are expected to follow,” - President Biden
“China is trying very hard to become the world leader. And to get that moniker and be able to do that, they have to gain the confidence of other countries. And as long as they are engaged in activity that is contrary to basic human rights, it’s going to be hard for them to do... Continue Reading
Transgenderism Stems From Feminism’s Failure to Deal With Marilyn Monroe
When “woman” again means something beyond a choice or an object, sanity will be restored to American sexuality.
Marilyn is a symbol of Objectified Femininity, such as is often seen in Playboy magazine. The sexual revolution, so called, did not result in the liberation of women but in a new definition of women as sexual entities of a certain sort. Where “woman” previously meant any biological female—with the ensuing range of possible attributes, personalities, and physical... Continue Reading
Reason Can’t Prevail Against an Irrational Opposition
This latest incident in cancel culture points to a bigger, more ominous truth: We are losing.
We are losing because our side assumes that reason can prevail when it comes to the confrontation of ideas. It can—but only when both sides are committed to reason. It’s useless to attempt to reason when the opposition is doggedly irrational. You will always lose an argument with someone who insists that two plus two... Continue Reading
Progressive Ideology and the Hijacking of the Christian Faith
If progressive Christians are truly progressing toward God’s standard, then why do they continually support policy positions that are clearly contrary to His standard?
Who can be against freedom and choice? No one, unless you ask them to complete the sentence. Freedom to choose what, murder? Should we have the freedom to rape and choose slaves too? And why does a woman have the freedom to choose to kill her children, but not the freedom to choose where she... Continue Reading
Yes, Sexual Sin Matters
Sexual immorality matters – big time:
Just as ancient Israel was to be quite distinct and separate from the pagan nations in terms of how they lived – especially in the area of sexuality – so too the church today is to be quite distinct and separate from the world around it. Yet far too often we see Christians living and... Continue Reading
Prohibiting Prayer in Australia
I assume, or at least hope, that those whose “sexual orientation” leads them to abuse underage minors are unlikely to feel welcome and valued in Victoria despite this new legislation.
In short, if someone asks a pastor, a priest, or a Christian friend to pray for him that his sexual desires or gender dysphoria might be changed, that pastor, priest, or friend runs the risk of committing a criminal offense. Presumably this also applies to parents praying for their children—or perhaps even parents teaching their... Continue Reading
