Four Corners Church is a part of the Acts 29 church planting network……(which) stresses solid theological conviction and it’s committed to reformed tenants of the faith, but it also provides a platform for a diversity of ministry philosophies”
Rumors have abounded since Four Corners Church was first planted in The Alamo in downtown Newnan, Georgia.
Pastor Alex Early reassures that the most shocking thing about the church is the truth of the Gospel unfiltered and undiluted. Now that the church has opened its newly renovated loft space, launched community groups and community programs, and vamped up its Web site, he’s finally speaking out about the church’s origins and Four Corners’ mission moving forward.
Early was cleaning the bathroom in The Alamo one night at 2 a.m., when he had a revelation from God to plant a church there in the bar.
Early hadn’t found himself there by accident either. He’d gotten a job doing grunt work at The Alamo as a barback, or bartender’s assistant, to pay for his first masters. But, more importantly, Early said he was there to put into practice the things he was learning.
“I went on purpose to befriend people who wouldn’t likely know Jesus,” said Early. “I kept reading again and again in the Gospels that Jesus is a friend of sinners and that he hung out in questionable environments. I decided to man up and follow him into an environment He would have found himself in to see if he’d really meet me in it, and he did. Night after night, I found myself answering questions that I had been studying for in seminary.
