BTGMI is the new name for the ‘Back To God Hour’, a 70+ year radio ministry of the Christian Reformed Church, featuring Peter Eldersveld and Joel Nederhood
Back to God Ministries International, which has 34 evangelistic and discipleship ministry websites, has launched its new, Christian Reformed Church agency website, http://backtogod.net/
With this new site, people interested in media missions have a tool that directly links them to all BTGMI audio, video, Internet and print resources. Dynamic pages and interactive maps give visitors a visual display of the global impact of media missions.
“With more people using the Internet, we want to make it easy for them to see what is happening in our ministry,” notes Jack Strong, director of advancement for BTGMI. “The Today, for instance, is a key component to our ministry, so we’ve put the daily devotional right on the front page.”
“Another new feature is a direct link to each of our ten language media ministries and all of their programs and websites,” Strong adds. “Web visitors can listen to Chinese, Spanish, or Russian programming, for example, and easily share the links with neighbors who might speak that language.”
For those who want to support a specific language ministry or particular program, another feature of the website is the secure and efficient way donors can contribute via credit card. Donors can give to various projects described on the website, as a one-time gift or on a monthly basis. “Even last-minute end-of-year donations can be easily given,” explains Strong.
Churches and mission committees will also have easy access to resources they can use in promoting the ministries they support or finding new ways to promote outreach in their own communities and congregations.
Since the website will primarily be used by North American audiences, BTGMI English (ReFrame Media) programs for all ages are highlighted on the front page. Next to that readers will find current news about the impact BTGMI is having through media ministry around the world.
Strong summarizes the purpose of the redesigned project: “Our goal is to provide a website where people can make a gift, get needed resources, or find out more about how people’s lives have been changed through media ministry.
For those interested in mission ministry, we hope this site provides tools for them to use in evangelism and discipleship—for themselves and for their neighbors.”
