2009 Mercy Ministries Conference
Sponsored by Christian Education and Publications and
Mission to North America of the Presbyterian Church in America
The 2009 Mercy Ministries Conference will be March 12-14, 2009. We are excited about the conference speakers that we have lined up and the topics that will be presented. These subjects are very timely considering the economic situation of our country. David Spickard’s workshop “I Need a Job!” will present a biblically-based strategy to help churches go beyond giving temporary assistance to the unemployed to helping them be successful at work.
In his workshop “The Poor and Their Money: Helping People Move Forward,” Steve Corbett of the Chalmers Center will explore ministry options for helping the poor get more out of their resources through Financial Literacy and Individual Development Accounts. Julian Russell will helps us establish a solid biblical and cultural basis for engaging a typical suburban church in mercy ministry that is transformative in his workshop “Getting Your Comfortable Church Started in Mercy Ministry.”
These and many other workshops address the issues of our day by providing both a theological framework and the practical steps needed to realize an effective outreach ministry. Don’t forget that the deadline for registering is March 1st, and help us plan better by registering early. Come join us for the 2009 PCA Mercy Ministries Conference in Chattanooga!
