Is women’s modesty the new legalism among Christians?
Men don’t lust after women in burqas (or do they?).
Written by Matthew Tuininga | Saturday, July 28, 2012
Often lost in all of this is that when the New Testament talks about modesty it is always concerned about women who put too much emphasis on their clothing, jewelry, and hair, forgetting that what it means to be a Christian woman is about godly actions that stem from the heart, not about what one wears. If anything, Paul’s writings show that he was concerned about wealthy women drawing too much attention to themselves through their physical adornment.

Do People Still Read Tim Keller?
Written by D. G. Hart | Friday, September 7, 2012
Who can stand in that great day? What congregation of any means is capable of maintaining members who not only have the financial resources to pay for the church staff all of these ministries require? But after these folks have worked hard for their incomes and given to the church, do they have time to volunteer for all the additional work that this movement requires?

Ten Things About Church You Should Know
(But No One Had the Guts to Tell You)
Written by Kevin DeYoung | Saturday, August 25, 2012
Hark! The Herald Angels Sing is one of Charles Wesley’s most famous hymns. The punctuation is critical. The herald angels sang “Hark!”–as in “behold” or “listen up”–when they approached the shepherds keeping watch o’er their flocks by night. They were not singing, “Hark the Herald!” The Christmas story would be less glorious with the angels singing about themselves.

Christian Reconstruction, Alive and Well
The Christian Reconstruction movement is not dead
Written by Larry Ball | Thursday, November 15, 2012
Christian Reconstructionism continues to be much maligned and misrepresented. Churchmen continue to throw stones at it because it believes that the Kingdom of God is greater than the Church. The spiritually-minded belittle it because it defines good and evil in terms of God’s law. Pietists deride it because it believes that the Bible speaks specifically…

A Christian Response to “Gay” Marriage
Written by Richard J. Alberta | Sunday, August 19, 2012
I am bothered by it not because I’m old fashioned or because I am a busy body telling other people how to live. I’m bothered by it because this is not just a matter of what they think and even what you think or I think. I am bothered by it because there is a third party in this matter and that third party is God the Maker of Heaven and Earth…and He does not consider it acceptable! I care what He thinks!

The first year, Dr. Keller spoke at the workshop on the topic, “Barriers to Accepting the Possibility of Creation by Means of an Evolutionary Process: II. Concerns of the Typical Parishoner” and presented his paper, “Creation, Evolution, and Christian Laypeople.” Last August, I noticed that Dr. Keller was no longer listed as a “leading figure”…

Lawsuits involving the world’s largest Christian broadcasting network may hang by a flash drive
Written by Warren Cole Smith, WNS | Monday, August 27, 2012
Jonathan Rovetto, who lost his job for sticking up for Brittany Koper on Facebook, has made up his mind: He said Koper “had nothing to gain and everything to lose.” Others are waiting to see what the courts decide, mindful of what both the Bible and Charles Dickens teach: Most parties tend to lose money, reputation, or both during protracted legal battles.

Connecting the Dots: the NAE, the PCA, and BioLogos
Written by Rachel Miller | Tuesday, September 11, 2012
In addition to the fact that the best known pastor in the PCA, Dr. Tim Keller, is hosting these BioLogos workshops and is calling for pastors to promote the BioLogos view, the Stated Clerk of the PCA, Dr. L. Roy Taylor is the Chairman of the Board of the NAE. That means that my denomination, the PCA, is not only a member of the NAE, but has someone in the executive leadership of the organization. That makes their decisions, our decisions
